The Pilatus PC-21 is an advanced single-engine trainer aircraft, often referred to by Pilatus as being the "Twenty-first Century Trainer". The PC-21 was one of the submissions for the Royal Australian Air Force's project AIR 5428, which sought a replacement of its Pilatus PC-9s. In September 2015, it was announced that the consortium comprising Lockheed Martin, Pilatus and Hawker Pacific, had won the bid to provide PC-21s to the Australian Defence Force. A total of 49 aircraft were ordered with the final PC-21 being delivered in November 2019.
Designed as a single-engined turboprop-powered advanced trainer, the PC-21 was first flown on July 1st, 2002. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
