In 1978 the new all-purpose fighter Mirage 2000 took off on its maiden flight. As the advanced 2000C, it is today based at the EC2/2 squadron at Côte d'Or air base near Dijon. To mark the transfer of Mirage training to the EC 2/5 "Ile de France" in Orange-Caritat in July 1998, the Mirage 2000C RDI with the registration 101 was redecorated with oversized motifs of the three flights of squadron EC2/2. We release this Mirage model with this extraordinary special livery as a limited edition. Designed as a lightweight fighter for the French Air Force, the Dassault Mirage 2000 was first flown on March 10th, 1978. The Mirage 2000 is a fourth generation fighter based on the Mirage III. It has a delta wing, one engine, a dual-intake, and can carry a range of air-to-surface weapons, including laser-guided bombs. Variants include a single-seat or dual-seat version. The dual-seat 2000N is nuclear strike capable, armed with nuclear weapons and equipped with navigation avionics that are capable of handling air-to-ground munitions. The Mirage 2000C is a single-seat, all weather interceptor armed with high firing rate 30mm guns. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
