Airbus A220-300, operated by National Jet Systems for QantasLink as VH-X4B. The aircraft belongs to Qantas' new-generation regional fleet and is progressively replacing the Boeing 717. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW1500G geared turbofan engines, VH-X4B combines excellent fuel efficiency, low noise, and useful range with a comfortable five-abreast cabin. National Jet Systems operates the aircraft under the QantasLink brand on domestic services throughout Australia. The A220's combination of capacity and range allows Qantas to serve both conventional regional sectors and longer routes that would be inefficient with larger Boeing 737 aircraft, giving the group considerable network flexibility.
