This replica of an early test vehicle is smartly finished in an appropriate single-color camouflage scheme of panzer gray. The model is fully detailed, and it perfectly adopts the nose-heavy look of the Porsche design. The tank has a minimum of weathering in keeping with its test-use status. Designed to meet a German Army requirement for a 45 ton 88mm tank to combat the Soviet T-34 and KV-1, the Porsche Typ 100 Tiger (P) or Leopard tank was ulitimately rejected in favor of Henschel's VK 4501(P) design. While Henschel's design went on to become the Tiger I, the surplus chassis already produced by Porsche for the project were converted into the Panzerjager Tiger (P) Ferdinand or Elefant tank destroyer. Dragon's 1:72 scale Tiger (P) is constructed entirely of plastic, which helps highlight even the smallest details such as welding beads and scale rivet details, with a discreet internally-mounted weight. The forward mounted 360 degree rotating turret features an elevating main gun with a detailed muzzle brake as well as an equipment storage box and separately applied spare track sections at the rear. The hull features battlefield equipment such as side-mounted tow cables and shovels with fine photo-etched metal engine exhaust screens at the rear.
