Befitting its elite status, Panzer Lehr was equipped with the best tanks and armored vehicles available. One example is Dragon Armor's Sd.Kfz.251/7, which is fielded in an attractive three-color camouflage scheme. The 251/7 was designed as a specialist version for pionier assault engineers, and was thus equipped with a pair of assault bridge elements. It is an Ausf. D variant, and the chassis has been made in die-cast metal to give it a pleasing weight and robustness. This finely detailed 1/72 scale model has accurately scaled machine guns fitted front and rear, each of which is designed to rotate. Lehr means "demonstration", and this Sd.Kfz.251/7 is the ideal accessory for demonstration and display by collectors.
Designed to meet a need for a vehicle that could safely transport infantry to the battlefield, the Sd.Kfz. 251 served Germany from 1939 to 1945. This half-track had a large track area and characteristic "slack track" design, with overlapping/interleaved main road wheels. It had an open top, which left the crew vulnerable to high explosive rounds and aircraft attack, but for practical purposes the design was so successful that it was produced in four models with no fewer than 23 variants. The "Hanomag" proved to be one of the most reliable half-tracks of the war and a total of 15,252 were built. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
Dragon's 1:72 scale Sd.Kfz.251/7 Half-Track series includes the "C" and the final production "D" variants. The vehicle's open crew compartment provides a clear view of a fully rendered fighting compartment. The driver's controls and instrumentation are wonderfully detailed, with simulated wood plank benches stocked with rifles behind in the rear compartment. Each release captures the variety of forward mounted weapons, and some feature twin bridge sections atop the hull. The rear machine gun is mounted to a rotating anti-aircraft mount. The highly detailed front wheel steering linkages and track systems are mounted to a detailed diecast metal chassis to give the model a pleasing weight and robustness.

The Dragon Models "1:72 Dragon Armor Collector Series" range presents highly-detailed, ready-made plastic models of military vehicles. Dragon Armor tanks require no glueing or painting. Each model is an instant display piece or diorama centerpiece straight from the box and is 100% true to scale... these don't look like model tanks, they look like tanks!. Color, camouflage and unit markings are carefully researched for Maximum authenticity, marking the difference between and authentic scale model tank and a "toy" tank.
