Peter Pirsch was the son of a wagon builder and the founder of Pirsch and Sons, Incorporated, a Wisconsin designer and builder fire engines. Originally manufacturing hand- and horsedrawn ladder trucks, Pirsch and Sons went on to build motorized pumpers, chemical and hose trucks, starting in 1926 with a 150 to 750gpm pumper on a Rambler chassis. Pirsch and Sons continued to manufacture fire trucks for more than 60 years, producing a range of vehicles from articulated ladder trucks to cab-forward and conventional cab models. The last Pirsch and Sons truck was manufactured in 1987, after reorganization forced the company to discontinue its production line. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
Corgi's 1:50 scale Peter Pirsch fire trucks feature diecast metal chassis and diamond pattern running boards. The chrome-plated hand-painted emergency lighting system is meticulously rendered in miniature, and beautifully simulated spooled hoses, pump controls and other equipment are also hand painted. The extensive power-train system is easily viewed on the underside of the model. The models in this series include an open cab design with a clear view of the interior and two closed cab designs with a variety of additional scale equipment.
