Boeing 747-412, serial number 26553, entered service with Singapore Airlines as 9V-SMU. The aircraft joined Singapore Airlines' flagship long haul fleet in the mid 1990s and operated international routes linking Singapore with destinations across Europe, North America, and Australia. Configured with first class, business class, and economy seating, the 747-400 provided high capacity passenger service with modern inflight entertainment. Powered by Rolls Royce RB211 engines, the aircraft delivered reliable long range performance. 9V-SMU served Singapore Airlines for many years before the airline gradually retired its Boeing 747 passenger fleet.
