Boeing 747-430, serial number 23821, entered service with Lufthansa as D-ABTA. The aircraft joined Lufthansa's long haul fleet in the late 1980s as one of the airline's early Boeing 747-400 aircraft. It operated intercontinental routes from Frankfurt to destinations across North America, Asia, and the Middle East. Configured with first class, business class, and economy seating, the aircraft provided high capacity passenger service with improved range and efficiency compared with earlier 747 variants. Powered by General Electric CF6 engines, D-ABTA supported Lufthansa's global network for many years before the airline gradually retired its older Boeing 747-400 aircraft.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
