Boeing 747-430, serial number 28757, entered service with Lufthansa as D-ABVY. The aircraft joined Lufthansa's flagship long haul fleet in the late 1990s and operated intercontinental routes from Frankfurt to destinations across North America, Asia, and the Middle East. Configured with first class, business class, and economy seating, the 747-400 provided high capacity passenger service with modern passenger amenities. Powered by General Electric CF6 engines, the aircraft delivered reliable long range performance. D-ABVY supported Lufthansa's global network for many years before the airline gradually replaced older widebody aircraft.
