The model itself is a real heavy-weight and includes details impossible to achieve in a smaller scale. The model arrives with an individually packaged detailed model of the Tank's engine which can be displayed separately or dropped into the tank itself. The model also includes detailed figures of Michael Wittmann and four crew members. Arrives in an large, attractive package complete with history book and limited edition certificate.
Production of the Tiger began in August 1942, and by August 1944 1,355 of these tanks had been built. The 88mm main gun was the most powerful anti-tank gun in use by any army. The superior mobility of Allied tanks allowed them to attack from behind or from the side in the hope of taking a Tiger down. The influence of Tiger tanks on allied morale grew to almost mythical proportions, and was known as "Tigerphobia." Tigers destroyed tremendous amounts of enemy equipment and often just the sight of a Tiger would induce the Russian tankers to withdraw. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
Forces of Valor's 1:16 scale Tiger I tank is large and heavy and one of the most wonderfully detailed diecast tanks available. The hull and turret feature subtle details such as welding seams and weathering effects. The hull is accurately reproduced in heavy molded plastic while the turret, mantlet and gun barrel are all diecast metal. The intricate details of a fully rendered battle crew compartment are exposed by opening all five crew hatches. The engine compartment's three panels open to reveal a highly detailed removable cast resin Maybach V-12 engine, radiator and fuel tank details. The working suspension and individually linked metal tracks are masterfully replicated and even reproduce the metal-on-metal sound of a real moving tank tracks.
