Die cast metal and plastic replica in 1:32nd scale of the Sd. Kfz. 251/9. The Sd. Kfz. 251 half-track was produced in many variants. The 251/9 Kanonenwagen featured a 75 MM cannon, could carry 52 rounds, and was operated by a crew of 3.
Designed to meet a need for a vehicle that could safely transport infantry to the battlefield, the Sd.Kfz. 251 served Germany from 1939 to 1945. This half-track had a large track area and characteristic "slack track" design, with overlapping/interleaved main road wheels. It had an open top, which left the crew vulnerable to high explosive rounds and aircraft attack, but for practical purposes the design was so successful that it was produced in four models with no fewer than 23 variants. The "Hanomag" proved to be one of the most reliable half-tracks of the war and a total of 15,252 were built. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
Forces of Valor's 1:32 scale Sd.Kfz.251 series includes the standard troop carrier half-track "Schutzenpanzerwagen" and the "Stummel" (stump), equipped with a 75mm gun. Each release features rolling rubber tracks with working suspension on each track wheel and a variety of battlefield accessories. The front wheels are steerable with details of the steering linkages visible below. The engine hatch opens to reveal a highly detailed Maybach 6 cylinder engine. The large, wide-open crew compartment provides a clear view of a fully rendered interior. The model's hull features opening rear doors and storage compartments and a rotating rear machine gun.
