McDonnell Douglas MD-11, serial number 48448, entered service with Delta Air Lines as N812DE. The aircraft joined Delta's widebody fleet in the early 1990s and was used on long haul international routes linking the United States with destinations across Europe and Asia. Configured with multiple passenger classes, the MD-11 provided improved range and payload capability compared with earlier tri jet aircraft. Powered by General Electric CF6 engines, the aircraft offered efficient performance for intercontinental operations. N812DE served Delta Air Lines during a transitional period before the airline moved toward a fleet of more efficient twin engine widebody aircraft.
Designed as a wide-bodied passenger and freight transport, the MD11 was first flown on January 10th, 1990. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
