The L 2 H 43 and L 2 H 143 "Krupp-Protze" (unofficial designation) was a six-wheeled 6x4 German truck and artillery tractor produced between 1934 and 1941 and heavily used in World War II. It was powered by a 55 hp or, from 1936, 60 hp Krupp M 304 4-cylinder petrol engine. Its main purpose was to tow artillery, especially the PaK 36, and transport motorized infantry. This vehicle was extensively used on the Eastern Front, during the North African campaign and in France and Sicily. The "Krupp-Protze" was of relatively advanced design. Its fuel consumption was relatively high (24 Litres / 100 km on road) in comparison to the comparable Opel Blitz 1.5 t truck (16.5 liters / 100 km, produced 1938 - 1942). Total production was about 7,000 units.

The Pak 36 (Panzerabwehrkanone 36) is a 3.7 cm caliber German anti-tank gun used during the Second World War. It was the main anti-tank weapon of Wehrmacht Panzerjager units until 1942. Developed by Rheinmetall in 1933, it was first issued to the German Army in 1936, with 9,120 being available by the beginning of the war in September 1939 and a further 5,339 produced during the war. As the predominant anti-tank gun design in the world during the late 1930s, demand was high for the Pak 36, with another 6,000 examples produced for export.

Krupp Kfz.69 Protze Truck

Designed primarily as an artillery tractor, the 6x4 Krupp Protze was a workhorse of the Wehrmacht. It eventually saw use in a variety of roles, including that of mobile anti-aircraft artillery platform and more commonly, as an infantry carrier. An air-cooled 3.3L flat-four cylinder engine configuration gave the vehicle's nose its distinctive low, flat shape and provided the driver with superb forward visibility. Four-wheel drive coupled with independent six-wheel suspension made the vehicle ideally suited for light cross-country duties. Almost 7000 units were produced between 1933 and 1941.
