The Dassault Mirage 2000N is a nuclear strike variant of the Mirage 2000. It is based on the Mirage 2000B two-seat trainer, but features considerable changes to enable low-level terrain following navigation. It can carry one ASMP medium-range nuclear missile as well as two MATRA Magic AAMs for self-defence. Because the extra seat decreases range, a pair of large 2,000 litre (530 US gallon) drop tanks are typically also carried. Please note: An optional display stand is available separately if you wish to display this model "in-flight". Designed as a lightweight fighter for the French Air Force, the Dassault Mirage 2000 was first flown on March 10th, 1978. The Mirage 2000 is a fourth generation fighter based on the Mirage III. It has a delta wing, one engine, a dual-intake, and can carry a range of air-to-surface weapons, including laser-guided bombs. Variants include a single-seat or dual-seat version. The dual-seat 2000N is nuclear strike capable, armed with nuclear weapons and equipped with navigation avionics that are capable of handling air-to-ground munitions. The Mirage 2000C is a single-seat, all weather interceptor armed with high firing rate 30mm guns. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
