Couteau Delta are the Mirage 2000D display team for the Armee de l'Air (French Air Force). Couteau Delta are based at BA 133 Nancy - Ochey Air Base, flying the Dassault Mirage 2000D. The Mirage 2000D is designed for long-range precision strikes using conventional weapons and was developed from the Mirage 2000N nuclear strike aircraft. The first aircraft, converted from the Mirage 2000N prototype, flew on 19 February 1991, and the French Air Force ordered a total of 86 aircraft.

Designed as a lightweight fighter for the French Air Force, the Dassault Mirage 2000 was first flown on March 10th, 1978. The Mirage 2000 is a fourth generation fighter based on the Mirage III. It has a delta wing, one engine, a dual-intake, and can carry a range of air-to-surface weapons, including laser-guided bombs. Variants include a single-seat or dual-seat version. The dual-seat 2000N is nuclear strike capable, armed with nuclear weapons and equipped with navigation avionics that are capable of handling air-to-ground munitions.
