McDonnell Douglas MD-82, serial number 49534, entered service with Scandinavian Airlines System as LN-RMN. The aircraft joined SAS's narrowbody fleet in the 1980s and operated short and medium haul routes across Scandinavia and Europe. Configured with business class and economy seating, the MD-82 provided efficient service on high frequency regional routes. Powered by Pratt and Whitney JT8D engines, the aircraft offered reliable performance and good operating economics. LN-RMN supported SAS's European network for many years before the airline gradually retired its MD-80 series aircraft.
