This is the first release on the Hornet sea-based F20; as used by the Royal Navy. Decorated in all-over silver, the under wing tips and propeller spinner are bright red. The RAF roundels feature in red, white and blue on the upper and under wings; as well as on both sides of the fuselage. Additional components provide even more interest, including 4 x 60lb rockets, two fuel tanks and an extended and retracted undercarriage. Finally, there is also an arrestor hook for use when operating on aircraft carriers.
Designed as a long-range fighter, the Hornet was first flown on July 28th, 1944. © Copyright 2003-2024 The Flying Mule, Inc.
