Boeing 737-9B5, construction number 39044, was delivered to Korean Air as HL8248 in 2014. The aircraft entered service on domestic and regional routes across South Korea and nearby Asian destinations, supporting the airline's short- and medium-haul network. HL8248 features Korean Air's updated cabin layout with business and economy seating, along with modern inflight entertainment and connectivity. Powered by CFM56-7B engines, the 737-900 offers reliable performance, fuel efficiency, and operational flexibility for high frequency routes. HL8248 became a key part of Korean Air's narrowbody fleet, helping maintain consistent service on busy domestic and regional sectors while replacing older 737 Classics. Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967. Over its long operational carreer, the 737 has spawned numerous variants ranging in capacity from less than 100 to more than 200 seats. In fact, the 737 series is the best-selling jetliner in aviation history with more than 6,500 aircraft manufactured to date and more than 4,500 still in service with over 500 airlines around the world. Incredibly, there is a 737 taking off or landing somewhere in the world, on average, every five seconds. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
