The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is the stretched, higher-capacity variant of Boeing's composite-fuselage widebody family, offering roughly 20 more seats and 300 additional nautical miles of range compared to the original 787-8. Entering service with Air New Zealand in 2014, the 787-9 has become the best-selling variant of the Dreamliner family, popular with airlines for its combination of long range, fuel efficiency, and passenger comfort features including larger windows, higher cabin humidity, and lower cabin altitude pressurization. Major operators include United Airlines, British Airways, Air New Zealand, and numerous Asian and European carriers using the type on long-haul international routes.
Designed as a mid-sized, wide-body airliner and constructed out of mostly composite material, the 787 was first flown on December 15th, 2009. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
