Boeing 757-23APF, registered OE-LFB, flew for TNT Airways before the company's 2016 rebrand to ASL Airlines Belgium following its acquisition by ASL Aviation Holdings. As part of TNT's European air cargo network operated from its main hub at Liège Airport, the aircraft supported express delivery services connecting Belgium to destinations across the continent. TNT Express, originally an Australian company founded in 1947, built an extensive European air network before its aviation operations transitioned to the ASL brand, with aircraft like OE-LFB continuing to serve the same logistics function under new ownership and branding.
Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes.
