Boeing 757-23APF, registered OE-LFB, serial number 24868, flew express cargo services for TNT Airways connecting the integrator's main European hub at Liège, Belgium, to destinations across the continent. Following TNT Airways' 2016 acquisition by ASL Aviation Holdings and subsequent rebrand to ASL Airlines Belgium, the aircraft continued flying under the new corporate identity while retaining its Austrian registration. As part of ASL's substantial 757 freighter fleet, OE-LFB represents the continuity between TNT's original European air cargo network and its successor operator, both centered on the strategic Liège hub for continental logistics operations.
Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. A total of 1050 aircraft were built before production ceased in 2004, however many airframes have since been retrofitted with drag-reducing blended winglets to help improve fuel economy. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
