Boeing 757-25F(SF), registered VT-BDA, flies for Blue Dart Aviation, an Indian cargo airline based in Chennai that is majority owned by Deutsche Post DHL Group. As part of Blue Dart's fleet of Boeing 757 freighters, the primary aircraft type supporting the carrier's overnight express cargo network across India, VT-BDA connects major hub cities including Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata. Blue Dart Aviation has operated continuously since 1996, building a reputation for pioneering ground handling innovations in the Indian cargo market while providing essential domestic express logistics capacity for its parent company's operations.
Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. A total of 1050 aircraft were built before production ceased in 2004, however many airframes have since been retrofitted with drag-reducing blended winglets to help improve fuel economy. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
