Boeing 757-2K2, registered NZ7571, serves the Royal New Zealand Air Force as one of two 757-200s used for long-range VIP and military transport, most notably carrying New Zealand's Prime Minister on official state visits including trips to China, Vietnam, and the United States. The aircraft wore a special "75th Anniversary" livery commemorating the RNZAF's founding. As New Zealand's primary long-range government transport aircraft, the 757 fleet supports diplomatic travel, military airlift, and humanitarian missions, giving the small Pacific nation strategic long-range mobility despite its otherwise modest air force fleet size.

Boeing 757-200

Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. A total of 1050 aircraft were built before production ceased in 2004, however many airframes have since been retrofitted with drag-reducing blended winglets to help improve fuel economy.
