Boeing 757-28A, registered OH-AFJ, was leased to easyJet from Nordic leisure carrier Air Finland for summer 2010, arriving on June 11 wearing the low-cost carrier's orange livery to provide extra capacity on busy leisure routes. The 16-year-old aircraft had previously flown for Baikal Airlines and Avianca before joining Air Finland, and returned to its lessor after roughly three months with easyJet. Following Air Finland's 2012 collapse, the aircraft was stored before conversion to a freighter in April 2013, subsequently entering service with FedEx under the American registration N967FD, extending its operational life by decades.

Boeing 757-200

Designed as a narrow-bodied, twin-engined airliner to replace the 727, the 757 was first flown on February 19th, 1982. Developed in tandem with the wide-bodied 767 twinjet, both aircraft share a common digital cockpit layout and are operated by a two man flight crew. Thanks to a proven reliability track-record, the 757 is approved for extended twin engine operations (ETOPS) making it a popular choice for airlines flying transatlantic routes. A total of 1050 aircraft were built before production ceased in 2004, however many airframes have since been retrofitted with drag-reducing blended winglets to help improve fuel economy.
