Airbus A319-112, registered VT-SCF, flies for Air India wearing a special livery honoring Mahatma Gandhi, part of the carrier's tradition of using commemorative schemes to celebrate figures significant to Indian history and culture. As part of Air India's substantial A319 fleet supporting domestic short-haul routes connecting major Indian cities including Mumbai, Chennai, Jaipur, and Vijayawada, the aircraft plays a workhorse role in the airline's dense domestic network. Air India, now owned by the Tata Group in partnership with Singapore Airlines, has continued the practice of applying culturally significant special liveries across select aircraft in its fleet.
Designed as a shortened-fuselage version of the highly successful A320 design, the A319 was first flown on August 25th, 1995. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
