Airbus A318-122, serial number 1660, entered service with Airbus Industrie as F-WWIB. First flown on June 3, 2002, the aircraft was the second A318 prototype and participated extensively in the type's development, certification, and demonstration program. Initially powered by Pratt & Whitney PW6000 engines, F-WWIB was displayed at major aviation events including the 2002 Farnborough Airshow. After completing its Airbus test duties, the aircraft was re-engined with CFM International CFM56 engines and eventually delivered to Frontier Airlines as N805FR. It remained in passenger service until 2012, when it was withdrawn and subsequently scrapped.
