Tupolev Tu-214, registered RA-64505, flies for Russia's State Transport Company (SLO), the special flying detachment responsible for transporting senior Russian government officials on domestic and international travel. As one of several Tu-214s operated in this VIP configuration, the aircraft represents Russia's continued investment in domestically manufactured airframes for state functions, a priority that has intensified since Western sanctions restricted access to Boeing and Airbus aircraft and parts. Manufactured at the Kazan Aircraft Production Association, the Tu-214 platform offers extended range over the standard Tu-204, supporting long-distance diplomatic and official travel requirements for the Russian government.
