Tupolev Tu-204-100C, registered SU-EAG, flew express cargo services for TNT under an agreement connecting the integrator's Egyptian-linked Tu-204 operations to its main European air hub at Liège, Belgium. The Egyptian registration reflected involvement from Sirocco Aerospace International, a Cairo-based investment group that took significant stakes in Tupolev and its Aviastar-SP production facility in the early 2000s in an effort to market the Tu-204 to international buyers. TNT's adoption of Tu-204-120C freighters, powered by Western Rolls-Royce engines, represented a rare instance of a major Western logistics company operating Russian-designed aircraft as part of its core European network.
Designed as a twin-engined medium-range narrow-body airliner, the Tu-204 was first flown on January 2nd, 1989. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
