Comac C919, registered B-001J, serial number 107, was the first production C919 built, completing its historic first pre-delivery flight from Shanghai Pudong on May 14, 2022, wearing China Eastern Airlines livery even before formal delivery. The aircraft was re-registered B-919A upon its official handover to China Eastern on December 9, 2022, becoming the first C919 delivered to any airline and entering revenue passenger service on May 28, 2023. As China's first domestically developed narrow-body jet airliner, the C919 program represents a major milestone in Chinese aerospace ambitions, directly competing with the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 families.
