Airbus A320-251N, registered B-30EH, flies for Air Travel, a Hunan-based Chinese regional carrier, wearing a special "Spicy Girls in Hunan" promotional livery celebrating the province's distinctively spicy culinary culture and tourism appeal. As part of Air Travel's growing A320neo fleet, the aircraft supports the carrier's regional Chinese network connecting Hunan to other domestic destinations. The colorful, culturally themed livery reflects a broader trend among Chinese regional airlines of using distinctive promotional schemes tied to local culture, cuisine, and tourism to build regional brand identity and attract passenger attention within China's competitive domestic aviation market.
Designed as a short/medium range narrow-body airliner to compete with the Boeing 737, the Airbus A320 was first flown on February 22nd, 1987. The A320 features side stick controllers and glass cockpit and was the world's first airliner to use use a digital fly-by-wire control system. Controversially, the software includes "flight envelope protection" to prevent the pilot from exceeding safe flight parameters. The highly successful design rapidly led to the development of the shortened-fuselage A318 and A319, and lengthened-fuselage A321 derivatives.
