Airbus A321-271NY XLR, entered service with Air Canada as C-GXLR. Delivered in April 2026, the aircraft became Air Canada's first A321XLR and inaugurated a new generation of long range single-aisle operations for the carrier. C-GXLR debuts Air Canada's new "Glowing Hearted" cabin, including 14 lie-flat Signature Class seats, bringing a widebody-style premium product to a narrowbody aircraft. Powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines, the A321XLR combines exceptional range with improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions. C-GXLR supports new transcontinental and transatlantic routes that would be difficult to operate economically with larger widebody aircraft.
Designed as a lengthened-fuselage version of the highly successful A320 design, the A321 was first flown on March 11th, 1993. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
