Airbus A321-251N, registered VN-A589, flies for Bamboo Airways after an unusual path to the Vietnamese carrier: originally built for Danish carrier Primera Air Scandinavia as OY-PAC, the aircraft was later provisionally allocated to Alitalia as EI-LIA, a delivery that never took place before the aircraft ultimately joined Bamboo Airways instead. As part of Bamboo Airways' growing A321neo fleet, the aircraft supports the carrier's domestic Vietnamese and regional Asian route network. Its journey through three different airline liveries before settling with Bamboo illustrates the volatile secondhand market for narrowbody aircraft amid airline failures and order reallocations.
Designed as a lengthened-fuselage version of the highly successful A320 design, the A321 was first flown on March 11th, 1993. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
