Boeing 737-8H4, operated by Southwest Airlines as N8657B. The aircraft joined Southwest's extensive 737-800 fleet and operates high-capacity short and medium haul services throughout the United States and to international destinations in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. Powered by two CFM International CFM56-7B engines, the 737-800 provides greater passenger capacity than Southwest's long-serving 737-700 while retaining excellent reliability and operational flexibility. N8657B remains active with Southwest Airlines in 2026, serving the carrier's nationwide network as part of its large fleet of Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft. Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967. Over its long operational carreer, the 737 has spawned numerous variants ranging in capacity from less than 100 to more than 200 seats. In fact, the 737 series is the best-selling jetliner in aviation history with more than 6,500 aircraft manufactured to date and more than 4,500 still in service with over 500 airlines around the world. Incredibly, there is a 737 taking off or landing somewhere in the world, on average, every five seconds. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
