The Dodge WC-6 Command Car was part of the early WC series of 4x4 military vehicles built for the U.S. Army before and during World War II. Produced between 1941 and 1942, it was powered by a 92-horsepower 230 cu in Dodge inline-six engine and featured full-time four-wheel drive. Designed to carry officers and communications equipment, the WC-6 combined rugged off-road capability with relative comfort. Its distinctive open body with a folding canvas top and rear-mounted spare tire made it instantly recognizable. Though soon replaced by newer models, the WC-6 set the standard for U.S. light command vehicles.
