The Sd.Kfz. 9, known as the "Famo," was a German heavy half-track used extensively in World War II. With a powerful 12-cylinder Maybach engine, it was one of the largest half-tracks, designed to tow heavy artillery and recover damaged vehicles, including tanks. The Sd.Kfz. 9 could pull up to 28 tons and often worked in teams to recover heavier tanks like the Panther and Tiger.
