Airbus A340-313X, operated by Singapore Airlines as 9V-SJO. Delivered new in July 1999, the CFM56-powered aircraft joined Singapore Airlines near the end of its relatively brief A340-300 era. It operated long-haul international services from Singapore until leaving the fleet in October 2003. The aircraft subsequently became D-ASIL before joining Gulf Air as A4O-LJ, later A9C-LJ. After further ownership changes it became EX-34004 with Manas Airways and joined Iran's Mahan Air in August 2014 as EP-MMC. After several periods of storage, the former 9V-SJO returned to active Mahan Air service in May 2026, more than 26 years after its original delivery.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport, the A340 was first flown on October 25th, 1991. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
