Boeing 777-312ER, serial number 34583, entered service with Singapore Airlines as 9V-SWM. The aircraft joined Singapore Airlines' long haul fleet and operated major intercontinental routes from Singapore to destinations across Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia. Configured with First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class seating, the 777-300ER provided substantial capacity and premium passenger comfort. Powered by two General Electric GE90-115B turbofan engines, 9V-SWM offered exceptional range, payload capability, and reliability, making it one of the airline's most important long distance aircraft. Designed as a wide-bodied, twin-engined airliner to compete with the Airbus A330/A340 and the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the 777 was first flown on June 12th, 1994. A pair of the world's largest diameter turbofan engines power the aircraft which currently holds the record for world's largest twin-engined airliner. The 777 was Boeing's first fly-by-wire airliner, featuring complete glass cockpit displays and flight envelope protection.
