Airbus A340-313, registered OY-KBM, serial number 450, was the last of SAS Scandinavian Airlines' eight A340-300s, withdrawn from revenue service at the end of May 2020 and formally retired on December 1, 2020, ending nearly two decades of SAS A340 operations. The fleet had completed more than 60,000 round-trip flights linking Scandinavia with the Far East and North America since the first deliveries in 2001. Following retirement, OY-KBM was ferried from Copenhagen via Tucson to Marana, Arizona, for disassembly, closing out SAS's long-haul quad-engine widebody era before the airline's transition to A330 and A350 aircraft.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport, the A340 was first flown on October 25th, 1991. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
