Airbus A330-202, registered EC-MYA, previously flew for Level, the low-cost long-haul brand within the IAG group, before transferring to Iberia and being repainted in the oneworld alliance special livery. As part of Iberia's A330-200 fleet, the aircraft supports the Spanish flag carrier's long-haul routes to Latin American destinations including Montevideo and Buenos Aires, configured with 288 seats across business and economy classes. The oneworld livery reflects Iberia's founding membership in the alliance, and the aircraft's transfer from Level illustrates how IAG has redistributed widebody capacity across its various airline brands as network needs evolve.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
