Boeing 747-357, entered service with Swissair as HB-IGC. The aircraft joined Swissair's long haul fleet during the 1980s and operated major intercontinental routes from Zurich to destinations across North America, Asia, Africa, and South America. The 747-300's stretched upper deck provided additional passenger capacity while retaining the distinctive profile of the classic Jumbo Jet. Powered by four Pratt & Whitney JT9D engines, HB-IGC combined substantial capacity with intercontinental range and became one of the most recognizable aircraft in Swissair's fleet during the carrier's classic 747 era.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
