Airbus A330-343, operated by Vietjet Air as VN-A814. The aircraft joined Vietjet's expanding widebody fleet for high-capacity domestic and international services from Vietnam to destinations throughout Asia and beyond. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines, the A330-300 provides substantial passenger capacity and useful long range performance. VN-A814 is especially distinctive for carrying the "Vietnam - Timeless Charm" tourism livery, introduced in 2023 to promote Vietnamese culture and tourism internationally. The aircraft continues to operate services to destinations including China, South Korea, Japan, India, Australia, and other markets within Vietjet's expanding international network.
Designed as a wide-bodied, long-haul passenger transport to compete with the Boeing 767, the A330 was first flown on November 2nd, 1992. It was designed as a lengthened version of the A300 and was developed in parallel with the larger, four-engined A340, enabling many of the components to be shared between the three types. The A330 also uses the same fly-by-wire technology that was introduced with the A320, featuring a glass cockpit and side-stick controllers. The A330 has the same range and payload capacity as a DC-10 with 25% greater fuel efficiency. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
