ATR 72-212, registered G-BYTP, flew for British Airways operated by regional franchise partner CityFlyer Express, wearing a special "Ireland" livery reflecting the aircraft's role connecting the UK to Irish destinations. Delivered to British Airways in the 1990s, the aircraft supported the airline's regional UK and near-European network before CityFlyer Express's operations were eventually absorbed into other British Airways regional structures. As part of British Airways' historic turboprop regional fleet, G-BYTP represented an important chapter in the carrier's approach to connecting smaller UK and Irish airports with London and other major hubs during the 1990s and 2000s.
