Boeing 747-2J6B, entered service with CAAC as B-2450. The aircraft joined China's national airline system during the 1980s and was used on prestigious long haul international services from Beijing. Following the breakup of CAAC's airline operations, B-2450 became part of Air China's fleet and continued serving international routes. Powered by four Pratt & Whitney JT9D turbofan engines, the 747-200 provided the range and passenger capacity required for China's rapidly expanding connections with Europe, North America, and Asia. B-2450 represented an important period in the modernization and international expansion of Chinese civil aviation.
