Boeing 747-87UF, registered N850GT, flew for Atlas Air wearing a special "Spirit of Panalpina" livery, reflecting a contract cargo arrangement between Atlas Air and the Swiss logistics company Panalpina, which used the leased freighter capacity to support its global freight forwarding operations. As part of Atlas Air Worldwide's substantial 747-8F fleet, the aircraft has been observed operating from European cargo hubs including Luxembourg Airport, a major logistics gateway for express freight operators. Atlas Air's practice of applying customer-branded liveries to its freighters reflects the close partnerships the carrier maintains with major global logistics and freight forwarding companies.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
