McDonnell Douglas MD-83, registered OH-LPH, serial number 49623, flew for Finnair as part of the Finnish flag carrier's fleet of MD-80 family aircraft supporting European short and medium-haul routes from Helsinki. Finnair operated a substantial MD-80 series fleet for decades before transitioning to Airbus narrowbody aircraft, using types like the MD-83 to connect Helsinki to destinations across Scandinavia, Central Europe, and the Alps, including flights to Innsbruck. As one of Finnair's classic-era narrowbody workhorses, OH-LPH represented an important chapter in the airline's European network development before eventual retirement.
Designed as a stretched and modified DC-9, the MD-80 was first flown on October 18th, 1979. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
