McDonnell Douglas MD-83, registered OH-LPH, serial number 49623, flew for Finnair as part of the Finnish flag carrier's fleet of MD-80 family aircraft supporting European short and medium-haul routes from Helsinki. Finnair operated a substantial MD-80 series fleet for decades before transitioning to Airbus narrowbody aircraft, using types like the MD-83 to connect Helsinki to destinations across Scandinavia, Central Europe, and the Alps, including flights to Innsbruck.
