Boeing 737-8AS, entered service with Ryanair as EI-DCL in October 2004. The aircraft joined Ryanair's rapidly expanding fleet of Boeing 737-800s and has spent more than two decades operating high-frequency, low-cost services throughout Europe. Configured with 189 economy seats, the 737-800 became the backbone of Ryanair's enormous route network. Powered by two CFM International CFM56-7B engines, EI-DCL combines reliable performance with economical short and medium haul operation. The aircraft was particularly recognizable for carrying Ryanair's "Dreamliner" promotional color scheme for many years and remains active with the airline in 2026. Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967. Over its long operational carreer, the 737 has spawned numerous variants ranging in capacity from less than 100 to more than 200 seats. In fact, the 737 series is the best-selling jetliner in aviation history with more than 6,500 aircraft manufactured to date and more than 4,500 still in service with over 500 airlines around the world.
