The Boeing 747-8F is the freighter variant of the final and largest 747 generation, featuring a stretched fuselage, new-generation GEnx-2B67 engines, and a redesigned wing derived from the 787 program. First delivered in 2011, the 747-8F offers roughly 16 percent more cargo volume than the 747-400F it replaced, with a main-deck nose cargo door retained from earlier 747 freighter generations for oversized loads. Major operators include Cargolux, UPS, Atlas Air Worldwide (operating both Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo brands), and various charter and logistics companies, making it a mainstay of global express and heavy cargo air transport.
Designed as a large capacity airliner and freight hauler, the 747 was first flown on February 9th, 1969. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
