Boeing 747-422, registered N175UA, flew for United Airlines and later wore a special "Saul Bass" livery honoring the legendary graphic designer known for his work on movie posters and corporate branding, including United's own iconic tulip logo. Delivered in August 1990, the aircraft served United's long-haul international network for over two decades before being stored at Victorville, California, starting in October 2017 following the airline's 747 retirement. The tribute livery celebrated Bass's influence on visual design and corporate identity, reflecting United's practice of using special aircraft liveries to honor cultural and design figures connected to its brand history.
