1:200 Scale   Length   Width
Boeing 737-200   6"   5.5"

Boeing 737-241, registered PP-VMK, serial number 21006, was a VARIG "Super Advanced" 737-200 that became infamous as the aircraft involved in VARIG Flight 254 on September 3, 1989. After the crew entered an incorrect heading following a stop in Maraba, the aircraft flew deep into the Amazon jungle and ran out of fuel, crash-landing in a remote area near Sao Jose do Xingu. Twelve of the 54 people on board were killed. VARIG had begun receiving this 737-241 series in October 1974, part of a fleet that also absorbed aircraft from sister carrier Cruzeiro do Sul following its 1975 acquisition.

Boeing 737-200

Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967. Over its long operational carreer, the 737 has spawned numerous variants ranging in capacity from less than 100 to more than 200 seats. In fact, the 737 series is the best-selling jetliner in aviation history with more than 6,500 aircraft manufactured to date and more than 4,500 still in service with over 500 airlines around the world. Incredibly, there is a 737 taking off or landing somewhere in the world, on average, every five seconds.
