Boeing 737-2P5, registered N7377F, flew for Frontier Airlines as part of the carrier's fleet of 737-200s that formed the backbone of its original Denver-based operations before the airline's 1986 shutdown. Frontier began 737-200 service to Albuquerque in 1969, connecting Denver to destinations including Dallas, Las Vegas, and Tucson, having previously operated Boeing 727s before standardizing on the 737. The original Frontier Airlines, formed in 1950 through the merger of three regional carriers, used aircraft like N7377F throughout its history until financial troubles forced the airline to cease operations, predating the unrelated modern Frontier Airlines founded in 1994. Designed as a smaller, short-ranged alternative to the Boeing 707 and 727, the 737 was first flown on April 9th, 1967. Over its long operational carreer, the 737 has spawned numerous variants ranging in capacity from less than 100 to more than 200 seats. In fact, the 737 series is the best-selling jetliner in aviation history with more than 6,500 aircraft manufactured to date and more than 4,500 still in service with over 500 airlines around the world. Incredibly, there is a 737 taking off or landing somewhere in the world, on average, every five seconds. © Copyright 2003-2026 The Flying Mule, Inc.
